Kerri Farnsworth
Founding Director
A highly experienced expert urbanist who is passionate about cities, and how cities work.
About Me:
For over 25 years I’ve been providing strategic and tactical urban development & regeneration advice, support & mentoring for over 25 years. My ultimate objective is to help make better urban places for people to live, work, relax and play; and for cities to be governed & managed in a more inclusive, impactful and sustainable way.
My experience has been gained in a range of organisations of different scales and operational remits, in the public sector, private sector and Third sector/NGOs. As a result, my expertise has grown to include wider organisational and/or service transformation and reorganisation.
Who I am and what I do
-
The knowledge & skills I have accumulated in bringing together all actors & stakeholders, and in delivering collaborative transformational impact, is evident from my track record in:-
Urban strategy, planning and design
Regeneration, sustainability, and economic & cultural development
Stakeholder engagement, consultation and partnerships
Peer review and benchmarking
Organisational transformation and reorganisation (strategic and operational)
I have particular expertise in developing and unlocking complex, multi-dimensional major initiatives, notably those involving housing; sustainable urban development and green infrastructure; transport infrastructure; public space; and culture & heritage. I’ve had a lifelong interest in street art too, and its role in regeneration, including an investigative research project spanning several European cities from 2016-2018. See my LinkedIn profile for more details and testimonials.

My approach is guided by each individual client’s requirements, but is always collaborative, creative and value-driven. I listen, observe, reflect and analyse, and co-develop bespoke solutions with you - solutions that deliver positive change in places, services and governance.
Social value is a important guiding principle for everything I do. I strive to achieve the maximum social, economic and environmental well-being in doing business, and avoid causing harm. For example, I:-
Use local, socially-responsible providers of goods and services, where possible and practicable
Reduce my environmental impact by using active transport or public transport, energy-efficient devices, recycled products, etc
Use online meeting platforms to reduce efficiency and client costs, and increase inclusivity
Use digital tools to enable inclusion to ensure accessibility for those with visual impairments
Promote skills transfer and capacity-building in local communities
